Welcome to the first installment of Friday's News and Notes (a/k/a your weekly dose of random thoughts)!
Good luck to Daddy's softball team as they play in their league tournament this weekend. In their 8th season in the Frederick Co-Ed Softball League, Sunset Custom Interiors -- formerly known as Timebomb Tattoo and Body Piercing and, my favorite, Uncle Ralph's Cookies -- are the #1 seed for the second consecutive season. But, they've never won the championship. Let's hope this is the year they break the curse! It should be a beautiful weekend for some softball.
Both the Ravens and the Skins have preseason games this weekend. With the O's and the Nats having craptastic seasons, we're ready for some football!
If football's not your thing, coverage of the Little League Baseball World Series begins tonight at 7:00 on ESPN.
