Happy Halloween!

A little less conversation, a little more candy please...

Test Results

I just talked to Colin's doctor and he tested NEGATIVE for Lyme disease. The doctor is pretty sure that if he had the disease, he would have tested positive. The rash is going away and he's still taking the antihistamine, but I guess we'll never really know what caused it. Oh well, yay for disease-free kids!

Happy Anniversary?

We took Colin to the doctor today after we noticed a rash on his legs last night. The rash looks like red rings around some of the insect bites Colin got while we were in the Outer Banks. The doctor thinks it is either an allergic reaction to the bites or Lyme disease. They took blood to test for Lyme, but we won't have the results until Monday. He started on an antihistamine today in case it is an allergic reaction. We would appreciate any thoughts, prayers, vibes, etc. that you can send our way. As I told my secretary, Linda, today, nobody wants to hear that their kid has a disease with a name.

Oh yeah, today's our fourth anniversary. I didn't think the fourth was the tick-borne disease anniversary, but what do I know?

OBX, Take Two

Daddy, Colin and I just got back from our annual trip to the Outer Banks. We did a lot of the same things we did last year, but what a difference a year makes!

The Aquarium last year:

And this year:

The pool last year:

And this year:

The beach last year:

And this year:

Colin tried a couple of new things this year too. He had a smoothie from Sonic:

And we learned to drive (while talking on the cell phone, just like he's in DC):

We had a great time and can't wait to go back next year!
