Daddy, Colin and I went to the polls last night at the Rockville Senior Center (only two of us voted -- this isn't Chicago). Despite all the problems Montgomery County had yesterday morning, we didn't have any issues. But because of those problems, not all of the votes have been counted and some races were still being contested this morning. You can see up-to-the-minute results here.
I was a little surprised at the seemingly low turnout. Sure, this was only a primary, but it was a pretty big deal. When was the last time there was a truly contested race for U.S. Senate in Maryland? We walked to our polling place, and it only took us 45 minutes total. Do people really not have 30 minutes to spare?
All three of us proudly wore our "I Voted" stickers yesterday. I hope to see more people showing off those stickers in November.
