Friday's News and Notes

I have to do a super quick news and notes because I'm trying to finalize a brief that's being filed today in federal court in California (that means no hyperlinks today!).

Speaking of that brief, I was finishing up a draft last night a little bit after 10:00 when we lost power! Thankfully, I was on my laptop, so I didn't lose any of my edits, but I wasn't able to email the draft to my co-workers in Los Angeles. Ugh! Luckily, we got power back about 20 minutes later and everything worked out OK. Whew!

My work computer was upgraded last week and I'm the proud recipient of a brand new Dell laptop. I love that I can sit on the couch and work, but I hate that I've been working until 11:00 every night this week. Isn't technology supposed to make life easier?

Today is the last day before Congress' election recess. We can look forward to less crowded Metro trains for the next month or so!

Have a great weekend!
