Welcome to a special "it's a holiday weekend so I'm working from home" edition of Friday's News and Notes!
It looks like Tropical Storm Ernesto is heading our way. The National Weather Service is forecasting 3 to 6 inches of rain over the next 24 hours. You know it's supposed to be bad when my office grants "liberal leave" for weather-related reasons! So, batten down the hatches, run out and buy toilet paper, bread and milk, and warm up the Tivo, it might be a long day...
On Monday, Daddy will be drafting his team for the King Farm Fantasy Football League. This is the Inverness Hurricanes' second season in the league. The Hurricanes didn't make the playoffs last year, but we're hopeful that they'll turn it around this season.
It's the most wonderful time of the year! College football season begins in earnest this weekend. Daddy's team opens the season on Saturday at home against the William & Mary Tribe. Mommy's team also tries to play football. They play the Richmond Spiders at home on Saturday. Maybe the NASCAR theme will bring some fans to Wallace Wade. Sigh...
Finally, congrats to Andre Agassi who advanced to the third round at the U.S. Open. Not bad for an "old" guy!
I hope everyone stays dry and enjoys the long weekend!
