At the urging of Colin's daycare teachers, we have entered the wild, wonderful world of potty training.
Day 1.
Purchase potty seat.
Put son on potty seat (at his request).
Nothing.
Change poopy diaper.
Put son on potty seat (at his request).
Nothing.
Wash hands (at his request).
Put son on potty seat (at his request).
Nothing.
Give bath and put into bed.
I guess Day 1 went about as well as could be expected. We're going to try to put him on the potty before his bath every night (he's been waking up soaked every morning) and see what happens...

wow -- he's not even 2 yet; I think those day care people are rushing things a bit. if it works, great, but if he's not ready, make sure he doesn't learn to associate the potty with negative things - Kathy
I totally agree -- it's too early. Fortunately, he seems to like sitting on the potty. We only put him on there if he says he wants to and we take him off if he wants to get off. We're very careful about praising him for sitting there, even if nothing happens.
