Catching Up

It's been a while since we've posted, so here's all the Colin news that's fit to print.

Grandma and Grandpa came over on Easter for dinner and an "Easter egg hunt." Colin didn't seem so interested in hunting, but dumping all the eggs out of the basket was lots of fun. And yes, he's wearing a snowman sweater in April, but this is what it looked like outside our house the day before.

Colin had his last bottle on April 15. At his 12-month appointment, the doctor recommended that we wean him off bottles over the next 3 months. We got rid of the mid-day bottle first and then replaced the morning bottle with a sippy cup. But we were worried that he would be resistant to giving up his bedtime bottle. That bottle had been part of his bedtime routine since he was 3 months old. We reduced the amount of the bottle over 3 weeks and, now, he's drinking his milk in a cup before his bath. While I miss the snuggle time, we don't miss washing all those bottles!

We bought Colin his first pair of real shoes last Saturday. Like his mom, he has unusually wide feet -- 5EEE. The children's shoe store in Frederick only had one shoe that fit (although we could pick white or brown, yippee!). We've gotten a couple of suggestions for stores that carry more wide shoes and are hoping to check those out this weekend. It would stink if our little boy couldn't have a pair of sneakers!

Colin went to his first Orioles game on Sunday. He wasn't feeling well, so he was content sitting on our laps the whole game (that doesn't happen very often). The O's won, so I guess he's their new good luck charm.

We'll try to post more often, but no promises!
