Friday's News and Notes

Friday's News and Notes returns today after a one-week unscheduled hiatus.

First, the big news that everyone is talking about... Britney Spears has filed for divorce. Dozens of Kevin Federline fans are mourning this unexpected development. So, Britney has been married and filed for divorce/annulment twice since January 2004. Talk about a threat to the sanctity of marriage...

Oh, did you think I was going to talk about this week's election? About Democrats regaining control over both houses of Congress for the first time since 1994 without a single incumbent losing re-election? About Democrats winning the governor's race in 20 states? Now, why would I want to talk about that?

Seriously, I hope both parties can put aside the partisan rhetoric that was so rampant during the campaign and work together to solve some of the problems that caused voters to want a change in leadership. A girl can dream, can't she?

Finally, since it's Veteran's Day tomorrow, I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has served our country in the armed services. I appreciate all the sacrifices you have made for us.

Have a great weekend!
